At just 13 years old, Red Caileigh Villanueva is proving that hard work and dedication make all the difference. Training at Cebu Jiu Jitsu under the guidance of Niño Castro, Norman Go, Joseph Benavides, and Randy Ignacio, she has quickly progressed in her BJJ journey, earning her Grey Belt. Her preparation for competitions is all about staying focused, trusting her training, and pushing herself to be better every day.

Despite being early in her journey, Red has already built an impressive competition track record. As a White Belt, she fought with determination and secured gold in the Cebu International Open 2023 in the Featherweight division, a defining moment that showcased her skill and drive. Red continues to push herself in training and competition, determined to keep improving with each match. Among her most notable achievements, she claimed gold at the SJJIF Worlds Japan 2024, standing out on the international stage. She also secured gold at Copa Dumau 2024 and silver at Batang Pinoy 2024, reinforcing her position as a rising talent in the local and national scene. 

With each tournament, Red continues to refine her game, fueled by discipline, passion, and the desire to keep growing as an athlete.

Red first discovered Hyperfly through her teammates and was drawn to its lightweight, durable gear. But beyond the gear, she connects deeply with the You Can’t Teach Heart philosophy, knowing that success isn’t just about skill but about resilience and passion. Off the mats, Red brings a fun and energetic personality, but when it’s time to train, she’s all business.

Her advice for those starting BJJ? “To always keep going and stay consistent during training because it will be always worth it. Do not be afraid to ask the coaches if you need anything. And always listen to the coaches instructions.” With her drive and determination, Red’s journey is only getting started.
