"Progress takes time, and there will be challenges along the way, but don’t get discouraged."
At 17 years old, Ellise Xoe Diaz Malilay—better known as Elle—has already built a strong presence in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Training for four years, she holds a Purple Belt and continues to sharpen her skills under the guidance of Luis Carreno, Gustavo Munoz, and Meggie Ochoa. Representing Atrixion MMA, JJFP Youth National Team, and Solas Jiu-Jitsu, she is dedicated to growing her game and testing herself against top competition. One of her proudest moments was earning her Purple Belt, a milestone that reaffirmed her passion and commitment to the sport.
Elle has established herself as one of the top young athletes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a remarkable competitive record. She is a 3x Abu Dhabi World Pro Champion (2022, 2023, 2024) and holds the distinction of being the first medalist of the Youth BJJ Philippines National Team. She earned bronze medals at the 2023 JJIF Youth World Championship in Kazakhstan and the 2024 Youth World Championship in Greece. Additionally, she is an 11x Gold Medalist in the AJP International and UAEJJF Championships, consistently demonstrating her dominance on the mats. In 2024, she achieved Vice-Champion titles in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam International Tour, the JJIF Asian Championships in Abu Dhabi, and the JJIF Grand Prix Championship in Thailand. Most recently, she won gold in the 2024 Batang Pinoy-BJJ in Palawan, further proving her competitive prowess.
Elle follows a rigorous daily training schedule, balancing intense competition classes, strength and conditioning, and drilling sessions. Outside of Jiu-Jitsu, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, finding balance between her sport and personal interests, such as art and exploring different cuisines. Her discipline and commitment to continuous improvement keep her pushing forward every day.
Elle first learned about Hyperfly through elite competitors and immediately connected with the brand’s emphasis on quality and durability. More than just the gear, she embodies Hyperfly’s You Can’t Teach Heart mindset, pushing through challenges with grit and determination. Whether she’s training, competing, or mentoring younger athletes, Elle’s focus remains the same: trust the process, stay consistent, and never stop evolving.
