Bella Salamillas is a 14 year old yellow belt training out of team Kalilayan jiu jitsu, powered by Carpe Diem Manila. She embodies the never give up mentality in her daily life and training sessions, believing that a showing up every day is what it takes to get to the next level. 

Her journey in jiu jitsu started as a 6-year-old, exploring the sport by watching her father's training sessions alongside her 4-year-old sister. Curiosity sparked the desire to try out the sport, and they both haven't looked back since. The sisters have been competing since they were 11 and 9 years old, building upon their love for jiu jitsu and turning their focus to being more competitive. 

Even at a young age, she has started to build the mental fortitude to withstand the ups and downs of becoming an athlete. "Every small step, every mistake, and every practice is helping you grow", Bella says. She truly represents the mindset that staying patient and being a lifelong learner will result in major improvements to her jiu jitsu, along with making the journey towards her goals more enjoyable. Bella aims to focus on supporting her teammates, representing Hyperfly Ph, and growing little by little each and every day with her family and training partners.

Bella was drawn to Hyperfly Philippines as she connected with the brands identity. The You Can't Teach Heart slogan reminds her to work hard, stay humble, and continue to seek knowledge. It inspires her to improve and build that belief in herself that she can achieve her dreams in the sport and in life.
